James Dana

Professor of Economics and Strategy at Northeastern University. I hold a joint appointment in the Department of Economics within the College of Social Science and Humanities and in the D’Amore-McKim School of Business. I have a BA in Economics from Yale University and a Ph.D. in Economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.  My research area is industrial organization with a specialization in pricing under uncertainty, product bundling,  price discrimination, revenue management, and the impact of market structure on pricing. Prior to joining the faculty at Northeastern, I was an Associate Professor with tenure in the Strategy department of the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University. Before that I was an Assistant Professor in the Economics department at  Dartmouth College. I spent a sabbatical year at Yale University (SOM and the Cowles Foundation) in 2022-23.
